This morning I came across an NES-style CSS frame work called… NES.css! Based on what I’ve been seeing, it does pretty well to capture the charm and nostalgia of the classic menus and feel for NES games. It comes complete with progress bars, icons, containers, etc. Definitely worth a look for anyone who is nostalgic for NES and wants to use the look and style in their next project.

Although somewhat unrelated, seeing NES.css framework has also given me an idea for a website that I’ve had in the back of my mind for awhile. I’ve been a fan of mod and trackers for some time, and have been kicking around the idea to create my own personal site to showcase some of my favorites. My favorite trackers, of course, were Screamtracker 3 and Impulse tracker. These trackers were designed to be run in DOS, so naturally the graphics, menus, and overall look were very reminiscent of that era popularized by NES. So what better way to combine my love of trackers with the look and feel of Nintendo, than to use the NES framework, right? Stay tuned for more updates on the development of this website.
